Tim is getting married...
Anette and I are in Denver, Colorado these days, because Tim Gorman is getting married to Lori tonight (Saturday). It's a hot wedding: This is, I think, the 20th day in a row with over 90 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes it the hottest period since 1857 or something like that.
Tim is very well known in the Oracle community: He spent many years inside Oracle where I had the pleasure of communicating a lot with him on the wonderful HELPKERN list there.
He also wrote a couple of books and contributed to the Tales of The OakTable book. Here's his website: http://www.evdbt.com/
Good luck to Lori & Tim! (said the guy on his third marriage...)

Tim's a terrific guy - pass on my congratulations and I'm sure you all had a whale of a time! ;-)
Thanks Mogens and Doug! Lori and I had a wonderful time, drinking and dancing and doing all kinds of things to embarrass our teenage kids. The one thing we regret is doing too much drinking and dancing and not enough time chatting with friends. In particular, I needed to introduce Lori to more than 42 of the guests present, and I spectacularly failed in that respect. Still, we were particularly honored to have Anette and Mogens present, who during the course of the week traveled 12 hours each direction from Copenhagen by air, and an additional 12 hours each direction to the Grand Canyon driving from Denver. RESPECT!
Thanks, Tim. We saw you and Lori get married and we saw the Grand Canyon. That's two very good things to witness in a few days, so we didn't even notice the travel time.
We didn't get jetlag on the way home either, by the way. We tried the simple method of not eating on the plane, but instead eating before and after the flight.
So we had dinner in Denver airport before takeoff (it was evening), lunch in London (we landed at noon British time) and dinner again when we came home at 19.30 in the evening.
Worked like a charm. No jetlag, no problems falling a sleep at normal hours, and so on.
Will test the method again when going to and from Oracle Open World in a few weeks' time.
